Maybelle Center for Community
Maybelle Center for Community (formerly the Macdonald Center) is doing something unusual and powerful by creating connection and community for people that have been isolated and ignored by society. Each year, they assist nearly 500 people, helping them to connect to the community and care that helps them live better lives.
These paintings were commissioned for the Maybell Center's "Twenty Years of Care," which celebrated the organization's 20th anniversary. The event drew 200 people and raised $120,000 to support programs that break social isolation and build community for low-income men and women in Portland's Old Town.
